Other than scientific publications relating to wildlife management and monitoring, he has recently published a book on his life as a manic depressive.
As an artist he works with diverse media, from pencil to oils, from buro to acrylics, from ceramics to needlepoint from old books to steel.
Victor Harley was a missionary, an overland tour guide, a researcher and a biodiversity and conservation lecturer.
He now is an environmental consultant, a writer, an illustrator, a knife maker and a fine artist.
He has had numerous group and solo exhibitions in South Africa and his work is on display in many private collections both locally and overseas.
